Hot Rod Chassis & Cycle’s recently completed 1967 Chevelle … not many cone killer Chevelle’s are on the track. I’m hoping they get this into the Optima Challenge

A track-tuned suspension from Ridetech uses American Racing wheels, Wilwood brakes, and Nitto NT05 tires, with 245/40R18 front and 295/35R18 rear. Inside the car is a Ride Tech Tiger Cage.

over 600 Hp with an Camaro ZL1 charge cooler lid on a GM crate motor 6.2l, it’s used in the second-generation Cadillac CTS-V range as well as the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, but it’s mass produced in Mexico, not hand built like the LS9, and that’s backed by a Tremec 6 speed, and Moser 9-inch with the Chevelle’s factory four-link mounting

Interesting trivia… what factory optional rim was made by Cragar? I wish there were many answers, but the only one I’ve come across is the 1983-86 Cadillac Eldorado and Seville

if you know of some others, please note it in the comments.

I think it was cool of car manufacturers to use aftermarket companies for performance parts, like the Edelbrock 6 pk intake on Mopars in 1969, and the Hurst SC /Rambler having glasspacks.

But when I came across this, I was disappointed to find that there doesn’t seem to be a simple answer online of what cars had Cragars from the dealership or factory. Just this Cadillac answer.

Mickey Cohen’s "bulletproof" Cadillac with 3 inch thick glass

March 17th, 2017 by admin

Mickey Cohen and 3 others were ambushed at 3:45 a.m. in front of the restaurant on the Sunset Strip. Mickey’s car drove up to the curb and gunmen (hiding across the street under an advertising sign indicated in the area circled on the left side of the picture) opened fire with shotguns. The gunmen then sped away in a gray auto, tossing out the guns a block away. Mickey was the least seriously wounded. (File date: July 20, 1949)

Chet Herbert’s streamliner the "Beast IV" is undergoing restoration

July 16th, 2016 by admin

The NHRA museum in Pomona, California has commissioned the restoration of the Beast IV Streamliner. Dan Webb of webbautomotiveart.com and his daughter Ashley Taulbert, (well known for the modern recreation of the “Golden Sub”, the Remington Modified recreation, the So-Cal Streamliner, and the fully sculpted Wedge Roadster, just to name a few) will be tasked to recreate the Beast IV and are currently making progress.

The streamliner will then be unveiled after the restoration/rebuild at the NHRA Museum in January 2017 during the GNRS

tank engine flathead V8 still in the crate since WW2, never been used

August 13th, 2015 by admin

What you are looking at is a Cadillac flathead that was built in 1944, 346ci and makes about 150hp. run to make sure it was OK and then crated up to be shipped over to the war front. It never made it there and the engine sits as it was, perfectly preserved and ready to be used for whatever a modern hot rodder wants it for.

Miniature, fully functional 1/3rd scale replicas of a Cadillac were made for the British Royal family of Siam, Norway, and one for a grandson of the founder of Cadillac.

the one built for the royal family of Siam above, the other for Norway below.
Interestingly, Prince Chula was the great-grandson of the much romanticized King Rama IV (1851-1868) of ‘The King and I’ fame.

The brain behind the little car was Frederick S. Bennett, an Englishman who played a pivotal role in establishing Cadillac’s success in the UK.

this is one cool way of displaying what makes the car historic… wow! I wonder if they made more images like this?
