I bet you’ve never learned of this before! A 1940 mid-air collision occurred over Australia. Both Avro Ansons of a flying training school remained locked together after colliding, and then landed safely.

July 6th, 2017 by admin

The collision stopped the engines of the upper Anson, but those of the machine underneath continued to run, allowing the pair of aircraft to keep flying. Both navigators and the pilot of the lower Anson bailed out. The pilot of the upper Anson found that he was able to control the interlocked aircraft with his ailerons and flaps, and made an emergency landing in a nearby paddock. All four crewmen survived the incident, and the upper Anson was repaired and returned to flight service.

The Ansons were at an altitude of 1,000 feet when they made a banking turn. Fuller lost sight of Hewson’s aircraft beneath him and the two Ansons collided amid what Fuller later described as a “grinding crash and a bang as roaring propellors struck each other and bit into the engine cowlings”.

Damn… a real deal 1969 ½ A12 Dodge Super Bee 440 Six-Pack that ran into a pole right at the tail end of break in miles… sold for 25k on ebay.

lead foot stupidity. Bought a real numbers matching A12 Bee, and smashed it as soon as he could.

The motor has been beefed up, and given a nice set of headers. NOS has been added, a top of the line NOS Fogger System which is mated to the original 6-Pack. AC, MSD, Bear disc brakes on all 4 tires, and an Optima battery.

This would have been an incredible car. Air Ride Technologies, 4 link added to the rear, mini tubs too

biker pissed off at car, kicks it, and though causing a chain reaction that crashes 2 vehicles, rides off and ignores flipped over truck . Damn, that’s cold.

be aware, some really old absent minded people are a danger to be around

January 5th, 2017 by admin

a 94-year-old man whose BMW was parked in front inadvertently backed over a 1979 Moto Guzzi SP1000 belonging to Moto Coffee Machine owner Antony Katz and on to the hood of a Toyota. The BMW crushed the motorcycle and smashed the front of the Toyota before flipping on to its side.

“The poor guy driving,” Katz continued, “it was his first accident ever.”

Predictably, Katz is now in a negotiating battle with the BMW driver’s insurance company. NADA book value for the model in excellent condition is nearly $6,000, and that’s what the underwriter is offering. The stumbling block is that Katz has put $9,000 in parts into the bike and 350 hours of labor. It terms of sentimental value, the SP1000 is priceless.

“It had been sitting in a barn for 10 years,” he said of obtaining the bike. “It had been outside for three hours (when the accident happened). I was just about to bring it in to change the tires.”
